Research Support for Aerosol Can Recycling Initiative (Household & Commercial Product Association / Can Manufacturers Institute, Washington, DC)

The GBB Project Team was tasked with providing research assistance for the associations’ joint aerosol can recycling initiative, addressing four areas of focus:

  1. Data Gaps
  2. Acceptance at Material Recovery Facilities (MRFs)
  3. Public Documents
  4. Consumer Awareness

The Project Team’s research aimed to confirm key aerosol recycling targets, identify the steps needed to achieve them, and uncover potential barriers and their solutions, as applicable. The research also sought new opportunities to educate the public and increase the recycling of empty aerosol cans nationwide.
