One Solution for All of Your Routing Needs

High Density Residential Routing and Neighborhood Collection routes

The most complex routing applications, high density residential routing, requires the vehicle to make a stop at most addresses on a street. The challenges are to reduce deadheading or backtracking of the vehicle and to keep routes logically contained inside of neighborhoods or districts. FleetRoute has a variety of unique tools for allowing the user to create the most realistic and efficient routes possible. FleetRoute allows you to easily keep routes defined by neighborhood, geographic, or user-defined boundaries. FleetRoute routes minimize unproductive deadheading, optimize trips to/from facilities, and can control unwanted turns. Route travel paths can be virtually-driven for training and testing purposes then edited as needed. These sophisticated routing tools result in routes that require less modification after being field-tested. Applications include:

  • waste/recycling collection
  • snow plowing
  • street sweeping
  • bug spraying
  • meter reading
  • postal and product deliveries

Commercial (Point-to-Point) Collection Routing

Commercial routing requires stops at addresses that are dispersed across an area. FleetRoute develops routes that provide the shortest travel path to customers and to the disposal or distribution facility or depot. It will also select the optimal facility or depot, if there are multiple locations. FleetRoute provides priority routing for time-sensitive servicing and profitability reporting to evaluate customer pricing and operational effectiveness. Point-to-point routing is used for:

  • waste and other collection
  • work order and service calls
  • delivery services

Districting, Analytics, and Area Routing

FleetRoute is also used for establishing collection districts, evaluating facility site locations, and conducting collection cost analyses and fee assessments. Evaluate a bid for a new service area or identify the optimal location for a facility. Area routes, which do not define a travel path for the drivers, may be easily developed when complete street or customer data are not available or are cost-prohibitive to develop.
