| Christopher A. Lund, P.E. Promoted to GBB Vice President
(Fairfax, VA – August 19, 2009) - Gershman, Brickner & Bratton, Inc. (GBB) is pleased to announce that Christopher A. Lund, who joined the firm as Senior Project Engineer in April 2008, has been promoted to Vice President.
“Chris has been a key and valuable member of the GBB Guam Receivership Project Team,” said Harvey W. Gershman, GBB President, “He will continue to be closely involved with the engineering, construction and management aspects of the Guam Receivership assignment and, in his new role as Vice President, he will have increased responsibilities using his diversified engineering background to contribute to the firm’s expansion.”
Mr. Lund has a B.S. degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His background includes, in addition to 6 years as Chief Engineer at the Guam Environmental Protection Agency (GEPA), 11 years with Dames & Moore/ URS, and most recently over a year with Bowman Consulting Group. His solid waste management experience includes the performance of portions of feasibility studies, siting studies, planning, design (civil, environmental, geotechnical), and construction management. Mr. Lund has worked in Guam, Texas, California, Nevada, Utah, Virginia, Texas and the CNMI on solid waste management projects.
While Chief Engineer at GEPA, he administered Territory/State programs and activities of GEPA’s overall engineering functions; approved engineering drawings, designs, and specifications for construction projects; directed and monitored budget development and administration; maintained a liaison with other federal and local departments in conceiving, planning, and executing engineering projects or programs; developed and implemented engineering standards, technical data, and procedures to serve as a guide for public and private engineers; monitored progress of projects/programs; recommended or made modifications in schedule or scope of work to ensure fulfillment of statutory requirements and technical objectives; and represented the Administrator in meetings and conferences.
As Chief Engineer, Mr. Lund reported directly to the Administrator of GEPA, who is appointed by the Governor as a Cabinet member. In this position, Mr. Lund has served in an executive role as technical expert for GEPA on policy development and legislation put before the Governor for review and signature into law. Mr. Lund was also appointed to the Board of the Contractor’s Licensing Board where he served as Chairman for 3 years. In these capacities, Mr. Lund has been able to help sustain growth and future development of Guam while protecting the environment and the people of Guam.
