Kiplinger Business Forecasts quotes Tim Bratton in "Plenty of Land Available for Waste Disposal"
FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA (October 31, 2000) Kiplinger Business Forecasts quotes Tim Bratton in "Plenty of Land Available for Waste Disposal"
"...Waste management costs may also spike in isolated areas. Look for rising fuel prices to add costs for companies whose waste is trucked to distant landfills. And some large waste management companies are trying to boost profits that were dented by their costs in buying other companies during the '90s. Those expensive acquisition sprees have forced the companies to raise their prices - or try to - in order to placate grumbling investors, explains Tim Bratton, senior vice president of solid waste management at Gershman, Brickner & Bratton, Inc., a consulting firm. Trash companies will attempt price hikes in areas where capacity is shrinking or they have little competition, he says."
GBB is a 19-year-old solid waste management consultant headquartered in Fairfax, Virginia.
